The Problem
Most property management software falls into one of three categories: too expensive for small portfolios, too complex for anyone without an IT department, or so dated that tenants refuse to use the portal.
The enterprise platforms charge $1.50+ per unit and require 6-week onboarding processes with dedicated implementation consultants. The budget options look like they were designed in 2008 and haven't been updated since. And nearly all of them hide their pricing behind "Request a Demo" buttons.
The Spark
PaxRent started when a property owner tried every major PM platform and found the same frustrations everywhere: manual data entry for HAP contracts, owners calling every week for statements, tenants complaining about clunky payment portals, and monthly bills that kept climbing.
The question was simple: What if property management software actually worked the way property managers work? What if AI handled the tedious parts? What if owners could just log in instead of calling? What if the pricing was posted on the website?
