How do I get started?
Click Get Started, tell us how many units you manage, then create your account and pay securely on the same page. Confirm your email with the 6-digit code we send, and you're in. You can import your data the same day.
What counts as a unit?
Each rentable space you add to PaxRent: an apartment, a single-family home, a townhome or a commercial space. Common areas you don't rent out aren't units. You're billed on the larger of your unit count and the count you chose when you signed up.
What does "Pricing locked in for 24 months" mean?
The annual plan is billed a year up front and renews every year. The $2-per-unit price you sign up at stays the same for 24 months, through your first renewal.
How does billing work when my unit count changes?
Whatever you add, you pay for, and whatever you remove stops costing you. On a monthly plan: Units you add are billed from the day they're counted, on your next invoice. Units you remove lower your bill from your next billing date. On an annual plan: Units you add are billed right away, prorated for the rest of your plan year. Units you remove lower your bill at renewal.
Can I cancel?
Monthly plans can be cancelled at any time. The annual plan is paid a year up front and can be cancelled before it renews. While there is no active subscription your team can't use the app; subscribing again restores access.
Is there a setup fee or a free trial?
There is no setup fee. There is also no free trial or free plan: you choose a plan, pay, and start working the same day.
Is the AI agent extra?
No. Every agent capability that has shipped is included on the one plan, with no metering. The agent drafts and recommends; anything consequential waits for your approval.
Can I bring my data from another system?
Yes. The data migration steps in Settings import properties and units, tenants, leases and owners from CSV files, including Buildium's own exports, and preview every row before anything is saved.
Are there any costs beyond the subscription?
Yes, and the Transaction Costs table above lists each one and who pays it. Card processing fees are your choice to pass on: when you turn that on, the tenant pays the fee at the time of payment (in supported states); elsewhere no card fee is added to a payment. Rental application fees are yours: you set the fee, the applicant pays it and you keep it, and PaxRent adds no screening charge. Bank transfers are $0.50 per transfer, billed to you on your PaxRent invoice; residents pay no bank-transfer fee. Three costs are billed to you at cost, with no markup: 1099 filing, e-signature envelopes beyond your plan's allowance, and mailed legal notices ($1.50 per notice).
Is sales tax added?
Prices on this page don't include sales tax. Today PaxRent adds no sales tax to your subscription or to the per-transaction costs listed here.
