Questions about tenant portal
Do tenants need to download an app?
No. The portal works in any browser on a phone or a computer, and residents can add it to their home screen. There is also a PaxRent mobile app.
Can tenants set up their own payment plan?
When a lease has a past-due balance and is eligible, a resident can choose the number of installments and the dates in the portal. A valid plan starts without waiting for you, and it has to clear the balance by month end. Leases with an eviction filing in progress are not offered one.
What do tenants see about their balance?
The dashboard shows the balance, credits and payments still processing. The ledger lists every charge, payment and credit with a running balance and exports to CSV.
Can roommates share one lease in the portal?
Yes. Co-tenants on a lease see the same dashboard, payments, ledger, maintenance requests and documents as the primary tenant.
Can a resident answer a renewal offer in the portal?
Yes. The offer shows each option with its monthly total and breakdown and a countdown to its expiry, and the resident chooses one or says they do not plan to renew. They cannot counter-offer from the portal, and a message to you is one tap away.
