Build Community, Not Just Buildings

Pool parties, fire inspections, maintenance windows, holiday closures, and resident meetings. Create events scoped to a single property or your entire portfolio. Tenants see a calendar of upcoming events in their portal with optional reminders sent 1 hour, 1 day, or 1 week before. No major PM competitor offers built-in community event management.

Six Event Categories

Social gatherings, scheduled maintenance windows, property inspections, resident meetings, facility closures, and a flexible 'other' category. Each type is visually distinct in the tenant calendar so residents know what to expect.

Org-Wide or Property-Scoped

A holiday closure applies to your entire portfolio. A pool party applies to one property. Scope each event to 'all properties' or a specific property. Tenants only see events relevant to where they live.

Configurable Reminders

Optional pre-event notifications sent 1 hour, 1 day, or 1 week before the event. Powered by Inngest background jobs that fire reliably even if no one is logged in. Tenants get notified, not surprised.

How Community Events Work

From event creation to tenant notification, every step is designed to be fast for managers and useful for tenants.

1

Create the event

Give it a title, description, category, date, time, and optional location. Choose whether it applies to all properties or a specific one. Set the status to draft while you finalize details, or publish it immediately.

2

Configure reminders

Toggle pre-event notifications on or off. If enabled, choose the timing: 1 hour before (for same-day events), 1 day before (for inspections and maintenance), or 1 week before (for social events that need planning). The system handles delivery automatically.

3

Tenants see it in their portal

Published events appear in the tenant portal calendar. Tenants see the title, description, date, time, location, and category. They can plan around maintenance windows and show up to social events.

4

Reminders fire automatically

An Inngest cron job checks for upcoming events with reminders enabled. At the configured lead time, notifications are sent to all tenants at the relevant property (or all properties for org-wide events). No manual follow-up needed.

5

Manage the event lifecycle

Update event details if plans change. Cancel an event and tenants see the updated status. Past events remain in the history for reference. Draft events stay invisible to tenants until you publish them.

A Feature Competitors Overlook

Built-in community event management

Major PM platforms treat tenants as accounts receivable, not as a community. PaxRent lets you create events tenants actually want to attend and notifies them automatically. No workarounds, no third-party tools.

Tenant satisfaction reduces turnover

The cost of tenant turnover ranges from $1,000 to $5,000 per unit: cleaning, repairs, vacancy days, marketing, screening. A resident who feels connected to their community renews their lease. Pool parties, holiday events, and community meetings are not frivolous. They are retention tools that pay for themselves.

Maintenance communication without the confusion

Scheduled water shutoffs, parking lot resurfacing, fire alarm testing, HVAC inspections. These events need advance notice. Instead of sending a one-off email that tenants miss, create a maintenance event with a 1-day reminder. Tenants see it on their calendar, get notified the day before, and plan accordingly. Fewer complaints, fewer surprises.
